Charming Farmhouse Is Not Too Big and Not Too Small

A charming Farmhouse on the market in Haddonfield NJ has me wishing I could buy it.  Let’s click our ruby slippers and say There’s No Place Like Home three times.

It’s not too big and not too small, and has a detail list too long to recall.

I mean it has a lot of bells and whistles for a charming Farmhouse.  Haddonfield, NJ has a historic preservation district so we may be visiting there again soon.

A bit pricey at $369,900 but that’s all relative to the area.  Three bedrooms and two baths and 1,297 square feet of enchantment.  Inside are plenty of white plantation shutters.  The fireplace is surrounded by built-in shelves.  Updated kitchen countertops with charming Farmhouse cabinets.

Sometimes when looking at houses on Housekaboodle, I take a practical attitude and sometimes not.  This charming Farmhouse would not be too hard to keep clean inside.  The backyard has a cute shed and the yard size looks manageable.

Charming Farmhouse Circa 1880 To Call HomeNice little front porch to decorate.  I like the front screen door with transom window, the iron gate and flowers hugging the house.

Farmhouse of the Angels in Puglia Italy For Sale

Farmhouse of the Angels in Puglia Italy For Sale

Farmhouse of the Angels in Puglia, Italy is today’s home tour.   A 17th Century Romanesque villa called Masseria Degli Angeli, translates to Fortified farmhouse of Angels in Italian.  It has been lovingly restored by owner Julia Silk and her husband. I am dreaming of owning an elegant villa in romantic Puglia, Italy.

Puglia is in the heel of Italy’s boot.  New owners will enter through an arched stone gate with ancient stone paving.  Inside Farmhouse of the Angels are stone ceilings, barrel ceilings and stone floors.  A crenelations bell tower and arrow slit windows from ancient times to shoot arrows.  This is medieval European architecture; updated for today’s farmhouse living.  Julia tells me there is an angel stained glass window and angel wings marble mosaic above the roman bath.

A private courtyard with a Roman bath and tiled veranda with stone columns.  Set in the quiet countryside with olive, pine and almond trees.  Mama Mia! House With A White Picket Fence in Alabama For Sale

Let's Go to Alabama and see a Charming Home on a Tree-Lined Street.

Here’s a charming house with a white picket fence in Hoover, Alabama for sale. I poured through a lot of pages of homes in Hoover Alabama looking for houses with a charm factor and this is the only one that made the grade.

Complete with a white picket fence on a tree-lined street, per the listing details. I am excited by the bright turquoise color of the home, the front porch, railing and scroll work.

Inside, it has stunning built-in shelves, beautiful moulding, and freshly painted in a popular shade of grey.  Really nice white kitchen and bathrooms.  It’s empty and ready for your imagination.  Check out the darling side-load garage and garage doors.

It’s my favorite kind of charming home and the quintessential all-american house style exterior look; a house with a white picket fence and large porch to watch the world go by on a Sunday afternoon.

Spadena House In Beverly Hills A Storybook Witch House

Check Out This Whimsical Storybook Witch House

The Spadena House in Beverly Hills, CA is also called The Witch’s House and has a whimsical storybook design, like the fairytale cottages in Carmel by the Sea Hansel and Gretel cottages.

It looks like a crooked old rundown Witch house on purpose, designed by Harry Oliver who was a Hollywood art director in the early 1900s.  The Spadena House was built in 1921 as an office and dressing room for silent film director Irvin Willat studio in Culver City; think MGM Studios.

Around 1934 it was moved to 516 Walden Dr., Beverly Hills, California and turned into a residence.  The Spadena’s were the first home owners; hence its name.  The second owners renovated the interior in the 1960s.  The house has a moat that was leaking so they turned it into a garden.

By the time it was on the market again in 1997, it needed a lot of work.  Michael Libow, a real estate agent, bought the storybook Witch House and lovingly renovated it back to its original storybook splendor.
