A Sunroom Is Therapeutic

A Sunroom Is Therapeutic

Sunroom –  A sunroom is the most therapeutic room that soothes the soul, especially in the winter.  I go in there and stretch out where the sun is streaming in and it’s like laying on the beach in the winter.  I would post photos of  our sunroom, but that will have to wait for another post when the new furniture comes.  I might update this post later with my sunroom from when we first built it if I can manage to get the pictures out of the old computer.  I am simply frustrated about that today.

I am drooling over this house especially the front sunroom and its window design.  The whole house makes me weak in the knees.  This house is designed by Forbesdh via Deringhall.com

I posted this sunroom for reference (for me, but you guys count too) on how to mix bright, bold drapes with furniture.  I knew there must be a way to do it!  The furniture, walls, and flooring are all neutral.  A large colored ottoman for balance, and pillows and then miscellaneous items of color sprinkles about.  Ta da!

Small and cozy beachy sunroom.

This sunroom is my pick because of the windows especially the one above the fireplace, and then the fireplace and the over-sized chair, but I do not like the fireplace stones; they look fake-a-roo to me.

If  you’re adding on a sunroom make sure the builder installs low-e windows and if you plan to use it year round a fireplace or jotul is the way to go unless your living in paradise climate.  This summer it was hard to use our sunroom with daily high temperatures here in Illinois.  We had blinds up on the windows and ran to buy thermal drapes that have done a great job blocking the heat.

Now it’s your turn to pick a favorite.

A Sunroom is therapeutic and so are Little Yellow Houses here

@housekaboodle You’re welcome, now we want to go sit in a sunroom!

  2. Beautiful – there’s just something about sun rooms that whispers…. peace….Wish I had one! I’ll just have to do with parking in front on one of the south facing windows!
