House plans with photos features an Ericson Southern Plantation house plan from houseplansandmore. It’s 2014 and l am dreaming of this cottage type house. As dreams go, three dormers on top, abundant columns, and an across the front of the home front porch and wide entrance steps makes for “undeniable curb appeal” as seen on houseplansandmore.
A fan window above the front door, oh yes please, completes the dream. What I love about this Ericson Southern Plantation house plan is that it can be for different house styles like a cabin or cottage plan where I found it. A Ranch style house, Farmhouse, Cape Cod, New England, Colonial, Traditional, and Waterfront house styles.
Some great decorating and design ideas are also another reason I like the Ericson Southern Plantation house plan. If you read Housekaboodle you may already know I like yellow painted walls, elegant furnishings, and a comfy cozy appearance. Let’s take a lookie because this design has great decorating inspiration.
Picture perfect Ericson Southern Plantation home with three bedrooms and two full baths. The homey great room with vaulted ceilings has a built-in entertainment center and fireplace shown below. Not shown but also included with the house plan is walk-in shower, double-bowl vanity, whirlpool tub in the master bath and walk-in closet. I am staring at the fan window above the front door.

Walt Disney’s father Elias was a carpenter and built the home located at 2156 North Tripp Avenue Chicago, IL. Walt was born on December 5, 1901 in the upstairs bedroom of the home and lived there until he was four years old. Interesting that Walt had three older siblings, Herbert and Raymond, his brother Roy Disney whom we all have heard of was 12 years older than himself, and a younger sister Ruth, two years younger than Walt.
A very in-depth history by Yesterland reveals Walt’s father, Elias, moved the family from Florida to Chicago to work on the construction of the Worlds Columbian Exposition of 1893. With this world fair background, Walt’s father no doubt influenced Walt Disney’s future dreams about a fairytale place come true like Disneyland.
To think it all began here. The home as it stands today was up for sale and sold this past June. It has been added to and changed from its original state by many owners. While the house was up for historical landmark consideration in Chicago, the owner at the time feared it would be hard to sell with all the stipulations. … Continue Reading
